Phyllis Cunningham Bennett, 72, of 121 Derrick Road, died Saturday, October 10, 2009, at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born September 7, 1937, in Glenn Springs, SC, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Maggie West Cunningham. She was employed with Spartanburg County School District Six Food Service and was formerly employed with Carolina Cash Company. She was a member of West Springs Baptist Church where she was a former Sunday School teacher, member of the WMU, and the Benevolent Committee.

Survivors include her husband, Virgil "Jim" Bennett; a son, Charles A. Bennett and his wife Elizabeth of Roebuck; a daughter, Pam B. Johnson and her husband Tim of Inman; four grandchildren, Wesley E. Bennett, Jeffrey T. Bennett, Lauren Hindman and her husband David, and Alaina Johnson. She was predeceased by a sister, Mary Waddell.

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, October 12, 2009, at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 13, 2009, at West Springs Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Dr. Henry Johnson and the Rev. Joe White. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the West Springs Baptist Church CFC Building Fund, 4811 Buffalo/West Springs Highway, Pauline, SC 29374.
