Raymond Clarion Hanson

Raymond Clarion Hanson, 83, of 630 Holston Creek Church Road, died Thursday, October 8, 2009, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born March 10, 1926, in Sioux City, IA, he was the son of the late Hans P. and Hanna Madson Hanson. He retired from Hormel Meats Company after 33 years of service and was of the Lutheran faith. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Kay Charlene Peachey Hanson; two sons, Ronald Hanson and wife Sherry of Inman, and Steven Craig Hanson of Sac City, IA; a sister, Ruth Anderson of Dayton, IA; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Sheryl Brown Hanson. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 3535 Pelham Road, Suite 101, Greenville, SC 29615.
