On June 11, 2011 our beloved angel, D.J. Vance-Ervin departed this earth at the young age of 18. He was born on May 6, 1993 in Gallipolis, Ohio. D.J. is survived by his mother, April Ervin, stepfather, Charles “Lee” Chatt, fiance' Betty Jean Kallner; brothers, Chris and Devin Vance, sister, Casandra Chatt, grandparents, Robert and Ruth Ervin; uncle Ian Ervin and family; aunts, Annetta Snyder and family and Amber Hinman and family; great grandmother, Marjorie Ervin, great uncle, James Ervin and great aunt, Jane Ervin and many more. D.J. Was a very active young man and participated I many activities that included Oak Hill Middle/High School Band and Choir, drama club, Jackson Area Launch and was a member of the National Honor's Society. D.J. was also a member of the very promising band, Ohio On Hi with friends, Colby Lykins,Cody Hamilton and Cody Delaney.
D.J., you will be loved, missed and reembered until the end of time. You are out shining star. D.J.' s generous spirit lives on through organ/tissue donations. He is our hero.
Funeral service 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at the Trinity Wesleyan Church in Oak Hill, Ohio with Rev. Fred Crabtree, Rev. Clark Walker and Rev. Todd Barlow officiating burial to follow in Vega cemetery. Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at the Kuhner-Lewis Funeral home.
