David Wayne Malone, age 61, of Jackson, passed away Monday, November 15, 2010 at the V.A. Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, after fighting a battle with cancer for over a year. He was born February 1, 1949, in Jackson, to the late Paul Leo and Marjorie Alice (Meadows) Malone.
He retired from Jackson Corporation in January 2010 after 35 years. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1968 to 1969 after graduating from Jackson High School in 1968.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by wife, Patricia Massie Phillips Malone; son, David Eugene Malone; brother, Ralph Malone, and brother in law, Roy Northup.
He is survived by one brother, Fred (Dhina) Malone, of Jackson; sisters, Paulette Northup, of Jackson, Myrta (David) Jones, of Coalton, and Joy Darlene Malone, of Gallipolis. He is also survived by sister in law, Francis Tully Malone, of Tallahassee Florida; two step children, ET Phillips, of Wellston, Tara Phillips, of New Jersey; serveral nieces, nephews and many friends too numerous to mention and special friend from childhood, Dan Franklin and wife Jackie, of Jisco West Rd in Jackson, who he thought dearly of and who always stood beside him.
Funeral services will be held 1 pm Thursday, November 18, 2010 at the Life Source Church in Wellston with Rev Michael Jadrnicek and Rev Anthony Triona officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery with a military graveside service conducted by the Jackson DAV post, chapter 45.
