Harold Homer Taylor, age 81, of Jackson passed away Thursday November 11, 2010 while surrounded by his family. He was born in Cheshire, Ohio June 26, 1929 to the late Charles and Edna (Rife) Taylor.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Helen (Waugh) Taylor; son, Mike Taylor; daughters, Melodie (Steve) Walker, Leah Harrison, all of Jackson; grandchildren, Emily (Shawn) Lowe, Jesse and Jake Walker, and Cody Taylor. Also surviving are brothers, Ivan, Clyde and Carl Taylor; sisters, Alice (Thomas) Brisker, of Oak Hill, Mary Dameron, of Waverly, Dorothy (Ed) Lewis, of Oak Hill, Doris Miller, of Oak Hill, Edie Ridgeway, of Jackson, as well as many sisters and brothers in law and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, William Bus Taylor; and sister, Grace (Dwight) McGhee.
Harold attended Oak Hill Schools and he served in the Army from 1947 - 1952 in Germany SSGT 3rd Armored Tank Div. He was a former employee of A.P. Greene, Don King Construction and Tucker Construction. He was a member of the Ohio Carpenters Union, American Legion Post 81 and a Christian by faith. Harold was an avid carpenter, gardener and loved working in the yard, garden and his shop. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 1 pm Sunday, November 14, 2010 at the Eisnaugle-Lewis Funeral home with Rev Jack Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery with military D.A.V. services conducted by Chapter #45 of Jackson. Friends may call Saturday, November 13, 2010 from 4-8 pm at the funeral home.
