Howard Clayton French, age 65, of Oak Hill, passed away Saturday, September 13, 2008 at Heartland of Jackson. He was born January 13, 1943, at home on Rt. 3 in Oak Hill to Edna (Radabaugh) and the late Clayton French.
“Come unto me all yea that are labored and heavy laden and I will give you rest; take my yoke upon you and lean on me and I shall give you rest.”
Howard leaves behind three brothers, Gilbert (Patty) French and Orville (Gail) French, both of Oak Hill and Steve (Mary) French of Columbus, seven sisters, Yovonne Stone and Wyoma (Bill) Fulk of South Webster, Juanita (Fred) Clarke of Wheelersburg, Marcella Nichols of South Shore, Ky., Lucilla (Artie) Cooper and Cheryl (Mike) Moore and Edna Ruth (Don) Piquet, all of Oak Hill, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Howard graduated from Oak Hill High School in 1960. Then he went to serve our country in the Army in 1964. In 1966 he served a tour in Vietnam. Howard spent 65 years and 8 months on this earth. He was a loving son, brother, and uncle. Howard will be greatly missed by all. He was a loving, funny and caring person.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at the Kuhner-Lewis Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in Monroe Cemetery. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Disabled American Veterans Chapter #45 of Jackson. Friends may call Monday, September 15, from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
