Berenice M. Rettler

Mrs. Berenice Rettler age 80 years, of Port Washington, passed away Tuesday May 6, 2003 at St. Mary’s Hospice in Milwaukee. She was born December 10, 1922 in Kaukauna, WI daughter of the late Ulysses and Ethel Verhasselt Mitchell. On February 18, 1941 she married Giles Rettler at St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Mackville, WI. He preceded her in death in 2000. Mrs. Rettler is a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Port Washington. She enjoyed spending time with her family, as well as, sewing, quilting, reading and often frequented the Neiderkorn Library.
She is survived by her children Thomas (Chris) of Sheboygan, Mary (David) Putzer of Gainesville, GA, Nicholas (Kathy) of Appleton, Monica (Tom) Falk of Port Washington and Cynthia (Thomas) Birk of Maumee, OH. She is further survived by 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her only brother Leonard Mitchell in 1974.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Joseph Hass on Thursday, May 8, 2003 at 12PM at St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church, in Port Washington. Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Black Creek, WI. Visitation will be at the church Thursday from 10 AM to 12 PM.
