Charles Fredrick "Freddie" Etienne, 70, of Commiskey died at 4:30 p.m. Friday, August 27, 2004, at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis.

Mr. Ettiene worked at Muscatatuck State Developmental Center for over 30 years, and had also worked at ITT Industries in North Vernon. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in North Vernon, Knights of Columbus, and Jennings County Civil Defense.

The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 31, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home with the Rev. Stephen Donahue officiating. Calling is from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Monday. A prayer service will be conducted at 6:45 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Vernon Cemetery.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the American Cancer Society.

Born September 24, 1933, in Tell City, Mr. Etienne was the son of Frank and Velma H. Murphy Etienne.

Surviving are a companion, Juanita Combs of North Vernon; a son, Charles Edward Etienne of Carlisle; a daughter, Lorrie Campbell of Commiskey; brothers, Howard Etienne of Leopold and Robert Etienne of Mary Esther, Florida; sisiters, Velma Harlen of Indianapolis and Edith Naviaux of Tell City; and grandsons, Jesse Lee Etienne of Commiskey and Charles Edward Etienne of Lexington, Tennessee.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lois Ann Etienne; brothers, Johnnie Etienne and Frank Etienne Jr.; and a sister, Evelyn Kellems.
