Earle Rae Weston, 75, of North Vernon died at 10:27 p.m. Thursday, January 8, 2004, at his home.

Mr. Weston had worked at the Log Cabin Inn in Vernon, in the roofing business, and as a freight solicitor, dispatcher and driver in the trucking business. He was a World War Ii Navy veteran and a former Golden Gloves boxer. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Hammond and enjoyed baseball and restoring Pepsi machines.

The funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 11, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Long officiating. Calling will be from 2:00-6:00 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by North Vernon Veterans of Foreign Wars, Matt Hester Post 2021.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Hospice of Jennings County.

Born January 27, 1928, in Palisade, Minnesota, Mr. Weston was the son of Charles and Myrtle H. Weston. He married Martha M. Cash on December 31, 1951, in Valdez, Alaska.

Surviving are his wife; sons, Roland Weston of North Vernon, Garrett Weston of Scipio and Randolph L. Raub of Grafton, Illinois; his mother, of Royalton, Minnesota; brothers, Curtis Weston, Chub Weston and Lawrence Weston, all of Palisade, Deane Weston of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Clifford Weston of Linwood, Kentucky; sisters, Marlene Weston of Edna, Minnesota, Mazine Carlson of Royalton and Violet Spolavich of Palisade; eleven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father; a son, Michael Weston; and brothers, Merle Weston and Kenneth Weston.
