Robert Benton Cox Resident of Redwood City Robert Benton Cox passed away November 2, 2009 from a sudden illness at the age of 54. Robert was born on October 30, 1955 in South San Francisco, to parents Donald and Beverly Cox, the third of what would eventually total six sons. Shortly after his birth, the family moved to Redwood City where Robert remained a life-long resident. He graduated from Sequoia High School in 1973. He would later go on to attend college in Washington state and received his certification in CAD software, and had recently retired from this field after 12 years with San Jose Blueprint/ARC. He was an extraordinarily gifted guitarist and an enthusiastic teacher of anyone who wanted to learn to play. He also enjoyed sailing, reading, hiking, and spending time with his children. Rob is survived by his mother, his five brothers and their spouses and his children, Lisa, Robert, and Jayne, daughter-in-law Cathy, and grandson, Kenny. A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 6th at 1:00 pm at Crippen & Flynn Woodside Chapel, 400 Woodside Rd, Redwood City. Pastor Keith Lindstrom will officiate.
