Viola Mikulik

Viola passed away Friday, October 23, 2009 in Redwood City, CA at the age of 91. She was born in Chicago, Illinois, January 15, 1918, to Charles and Mabel Lindner. She married William Mikulik on November 19, 1941, and they moved to San Francisco where William joined the San Francisco Police Department. They lived in the Mission and later the Sunset District where they raised a family of four children. Upon William’s retirement as a SFPD Lieutenant in 1977, they moved to their home on two acres in Sebastopol. In 1988 they moved to Fair Oaks, where they lived until William passed away in 2001, four months before their sixtieth anniversary. Viola spent her remaining years in San Mateo and Redwood City. From her youth she was a loyal fan of professional baseball, first in Chicago and then in San Francisco. Most of all Viola was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was caring, gentle, kind, and affectionate, always ready with her warm hugs and her sweet smile. We will forever hold her in our hearts.
Viola is survived by her children Richard (Helen) Mikulik of San Mateo, James (Phyllis) Mikulik of Pittsburg, Cathy (Toby) Tobiassen of Aloha, OR, Carol (Benjamin) Hsu of Colbert, WA, and her 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Burial will be Friday, November 6 at 12 pm at the Golden Gate National Cemetery in San Bruno.
