Rita Ann Jorgensen Stewart Resident of San Carlos Sept. 27, 1934 - Sept. 2, 2009 Rita Ann Jorgensen Stewart passed away tragically in an automobile accident on September 2, 2009 just day's away from her 75th birthday. She is survived by her dearly beloved husband of 51 years Glenn A. Stewart, daughter Lynne and her husband Kevin, 2 grandchildren Kimberly and Timothy, sister Linda and her husband Joel, also several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a sister-in-law. Rita was predeceased by her son Keith (1993) and her brother Dan (1999). After receiving her B.A. in education and teaching credentials, Rita came to San Carlos in 1956 to teach in the San Carlos School District. She taught for 3 years in public schools, and 17 years as a pre-school teacher at Peninsula Covenant Church. In her retirement she participated in the Redwood City Library Reading Program to preschool children up till her passing. Rita is remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed by ALL who knew and loved her. Friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Rita's Life on Saturday September 12 beginning at 11:00am at the Peninsula Covenant Church 3560 Farm Hill Blvd. Redwood City, CA 94061.
