Jovita (Jody) Ann Bannon Ludwig
Resident of Redwood City
Jovita (Jody) Ann Bannon Ludwig was born May 5, 1930 in Los Angeles . She grew up in Huntington Park , California and attended UCLA where she received a degree in Business Administration, and met her loving husband of 54 years, Francis (Fo) Ludwig. After college, they settled in the Bay Area in 1959, moving to Redwood City in 1960, where she lived until her death September 1, 2009 in Palo Alto . Jody was a devoted wife and mother, as well as a tireless volunteer for many causes, including Girl Scouts and Friends of the Redwood City Public Library. She was active in the Catholic Church. Jody was a friend to all; over the years she opened her home to students, a heart transplant patient and many others in need of a place to stay. After her children were grown, she was struck with the travel bug and was lucky enough to travel throughout the world with her husband, children, children-in-law, and grandchildren, touching all continents but Australia and Antarctica . She made friends from around the world, many as visitors to her home. Jody will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband, her daughter Kiamara and son Kevin, and her grandchildren Xelha Weisman, and Andrew and Megan Ludwig.
The family extends special thanks to St. Mathias parish, and the staffs at Hyatt Skilled Nursing and Sequoia Hospital for their help to both Francis and Jody during the difficult times of her long illness. Please honor Jody by doing something nice for others.
