MURIEL ANN MARELICH

Born on August 8, 1948, peacefully passed away August 4, 2009 in Redwood City with her family at her side after a short but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Muriel is survived by her brothers, Robert Marelich and Mark Marelich (Linda), and sisters Dianne Woofter (Paul) and Kristine Caputo (Larry). She was predeceased by her parents, Stephen P. and Muriel J. Marelich, sister, Kathleen (K.C.) Marelich, and brother, Stephen P. Marelich, Jr. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews and a wide circle of friends.
A proficient legal secretary whose career spanned over 35 years, she worked with many prominent attorneys, proudly assisting Paul N. "Pete" McCloskey, Jr. for the last 20 years. Muriel’s love for animals was only surpassed by her love and devotion to her family. She will be remembered by all for the thoughtful handmade crafts she enjoyed making for friends and family and will be deeply missed by all.
Friends may visit Sunday, August 9 after 6:00 pm and are invited to attend a vigil service at 7:30 pm at Crippen & Flynn Woodside Chapel, 400 Woodside Rd. , Redwood City . A Mass of the Christian Burial will be held Monday, August 10 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 300 Fulton Street , Redwood City followed by internment at Skylawn Memorial Park , Hwy. 92 and Skyline Blvd. , San Mateo . In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Muriel’s name to Sutter VNA and Hospice, 700 S. Claremont Street, Suite 220 , San Mateo , CA 94402 or the ASPCA (online at www.aspca.org).
