Patricia Louise (Eggerling) Lo Coco

  VIEW/SEND CONDOLENCES

Patricia Louise (Eggerling) Lo Coco Oct 20th, 1931 - July 8th, 2009 Passed away peacefully Wed, July 8, 2009 at her home in Belmont. She was 77. Known to all as "Pat", she will be dearly missed by family and friends alike. Pat was the eighth in a family of 11 children born to Theodore and Josephine Eggerling, and raised in the small town of Orient, SD. In 1950 Pat moved to San Francisco. She and her sisters sang together as the "Candy Sisters" singing at the Officers Club on Treasure Island. They were hired by the Department of the U.S. Sixth Army and traveled to military bases throughout California to entertain the troops. They became a featured act at the Sands Ballroom in Oakland where they sang with the Sid Hoff Orchestra. Other career highlights included singing with the Harry James Orchestra, and with Lawrence Welk and his Orchestra. In 1955 the Candy Sisters appeared on a coast-to- coast broadcast of the Horace Heidt TV show "Show Wagon." They were one of three acts chosen out of the 250 that auditioned to appear on the show. Pat continued to entertain family and friends by singing with her sisters throughout her lifetime. It was one of her greatest joys. In the summer of 1958, Pat met Ron Lo Coco. It was the beginning of a 41-year love affair. The couple was married six months later. They settled in Belmont, where they raised three children. Their home became a central meeting place for the family. Pat's hospitality was notorious, and many people have legendary memories of enjoying holidays and family parties on Sunnyslope. In 1978 Pat went to work for Hatcher Press in San Carlos where she worked for 30 years. Her sincere concern for co-workers and clients alike made her a well known figure in the industry. Pat is survived by her three children and seven grandchildren; Debi Chimenti, husband Joe, and their four sons (Christopher, Nicholas, Gabriel, and Samuel) of Redding, CA., Patti Lo Coco- Jones and her husband Tom of Oakland, CA., and Jim Lo Coco, his wife Flavia, and their three daughters (Jordan, Lauren, & Carolyn) of Pasadena, CA. Pat was preceded in death by her sister Bev Stancil only four days before her own passing. They lived one mile apart for 50 years and shared their lives together. The families will hold a joint Catholic Vigil at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Belmont on Thursday, July 23rd at 7:00 p.m.. A Catholic Memorial Mass for Pat will be held on Saturday, July 25th at 11:00 a.m. at Cunningham Memorial Chapel at the Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Pat's memory to the American Cancer Society , to the Pathways Hospice Foundation, 585 N.Mary Ave., Sunnyvale, CA. 94085, or to a charity of the donors choosing.
