Susan Trina Burns

  VIEW/SEND CONDOLENCES

SUSAN T. BURNS

Susan Trina Burns passed away peacefully at her home on July 19, 2009. Sue’s bright smile along with her caring and giving nature were felt by all those lucky enough to have met her.

Sue was born in Anchorage , Alaska on August 9, 1950. She spent most of her life in Indiana and Kentucky before moving to Maryland where she began working at the Pentagon, met the love of her life, Harmon “Buzz” Burns, and subsequently married him. Shortly thereafter, they moved to California where they raised their daughters Trina and Tori, spent much of their time at Giants and 49er games as well as their children’s extra curricular events, and made friends everywhere they went. Later on they welcomed two granddaughters and began to indulge in all the joys of being grandparents. Sue also worked at Woodside Priory School in Portola Valley as a math teacher and Math Department Chair. It was evident by the number of students and coworkers she continued to be in touch with that she enriched the lives of countless people during her time there.

Sue is survived by her mother Inge Trina, daughters Trina Dean and Tori Burns, son-in-law Robert Dean, granddaughters Mackenzie and Madison Dean, as well as brothers Jay, Tom, Marty, and Chris Trina and their families. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her close friends, extended family, and the Giants family for many years to come.

A Funeral Mass for Sue will take place at St. Pius Church, 1100 Woodside Rd. , Redwood City on Thursday, July 23, 2009 at 11:00 am. There will be a viewing from 9:30AM – 10:30AM at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Giants Community Fund or the Sequoia Hospital Foundation.
