Passed away on June 28, 2009 at the age of 91. Dearly beloved wife of 70 years to the late Manuel F. Demelo (2002). Maria is survived by her 4 daughters, 7 sons, 29 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and many other relatives also survive her. Maria was pre-deceased by 1 daughter and 1 son. Born in Furnas, San Miguel, Azores , Maria loved life and music, dancing, having a great time, crocheting, sewing, design, good food and sweets. Most of all her greatest passion in life was that she lived for her family.
Friends may visit Wednesday, July 1, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and attend a Vigil Service at 7:00 pm at Crippen & Flynn Woodside Chapel, 400 Woodside Rd. Redwood City . A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, July 2, 2009 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, 300 Fulton St., Redwood City. Burial will follow to Alta Mesa Memorial Park , Palo Alto .
