Amy P. Meitz

Passed away on Saturday June 13, 2009 at the age of 79. Mrs. Meitz was born on October 21, 1929 in Niagara Falls, New York. In 1972, she graduated from Niagara Falls Community College with a degree in nursing. She continued nursing for approximately 30 years and retired after serving as the Director of Nursing, a job she was very devoted to and loved. Following her retirement, she was very active with the Lewiston Senior Center, as well as serving as a volunteer at various hospitals in both New York and California. Additionally, Amy Meitz volunteered as an assistant to the musical instructor in a local church working with young children. She loved spending time with her family, and enjoyed music, playing both piano and organ. Amy loved to swim, read and spent countless hours creating needlepoint and counted cross-stitch pictures, which are admired and cherished by all. She is survived by 4 daughters: Ruth E. Phillips of Conyers, Georgia, Linda A. Fitzgibbon of Redwood City, California, Kathy Brooks of Grand Island, New York, and Judy Peete of Ransonville, New York. She is further survived by 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. A memorial service is yet to be scheduled pending further Arrangements.
