Mary Ellen (Gleeson) Murphy a longtime resident of Redwood City for 66 years, passed away peacefully at her home on June 15, 2009. Dearly beloved wife of 58 years to the late Gerald Murphy (2007) Mary Ellen is survived by her daughters Anne Murphy and her husband John Hopkirk, Janice Murphy, and Mary Teeter and her husband David; sons Brian and his wife Jan, Thomas and his wife Linda, and Patrick and his wife Debra.; 1 brother James Gleeson and his wife Ruth; 12 devoted grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; she is also survived by many other relatives. Mary Ellen was born in San Francisco, and graduated from St. Paul’s High School. Friends are invited to attend a Vigil on Sunday June 28, 2009 beginning at 4:00pm at Crippen & Flynn Woodside Chapel 400 Woodside rd, Redwood City. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday June 29, 2009 beginning at 11:00AM" at St. Pius Church 1100 Woodside Rd. in Redwood City. Private burial service will be held.
