Resident of Belmont
Albert Fredrick Herminghaus Jr. died peacefully at home on Tuesday, June 2, 2009. He was 86 years old. He joins his friends Jolly and Rudy for a tee time in heaven. We will miss him dearly.
Al leaves behind his wife of 58 years, Evelyn Herminghaus, a son, Kim Herminghaus (Judy) and a daughter Jojo Harris, as well as his three grandchildren: Jake Herminghaus 27yrs (Sara), Blane Herminghaus 24 yrs, and Leeanne Harris 24yrs.
Al was San Mateo High School Student Body President, and Quarterback of his football team in the years he attended. He served his country in the ArmyAirforce in WWII as P51 Crew Chief on Iwo Jima . He never forgot how to keep things running and served as our family car Crew Chief as well. He was an avid golfer and fisherman, and raised generations of sports enthusiasts.
Al is remembered for his kind ways, his corny jokes, his root-beer floats, and taping over all broken things with Duct tape. As his family we are able to smile in remembrance of our husband, father and grandfather in these sad times, because we have so many good memories of this loving, always available to us, good man. For too short a time he was ours. Thank you God, for his life.
Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Friday, June 5, 1:30pm at Crippen & Flynn Carlmont Chapel, 1111 Alameda de las Pulgas in Belmont . Interment will follow at Skylawn Memorial Park in San Mateo .
