Grace Alice Behnke Southward



 
Grace Alice Behnke Southward, 90, a Belmont resident for the past 4 years died May 25, 2009 from cause’s incident to age. Grace, who lived in Redwood City for 57 years, was a native of San Francisco.

She graduated from St. Anthony’s Catholic Grammar School and Immaculate Conception Academy in San Francisco. She was a member of the Roscans, NDGW, Catholic Daughters, Marion Study Club, YLI, Mt. Carmel and St. Matthias Mothers’ Clubs, St. Matthias Altar Society. Catholic Widow and Widowers, the Seniors at the Redwood City Community Center and the Seniors at St. Pius where she served Holy Communion to the homebound.

She was the wife of the late Harry B. Southward and mother of the late Christine Southward. She is survived by three sons, Robert and his wife Diana, James and his wife Jean, and William and his wife Julie and four daughters, Judith Davis and her partner Don, Catherine Southward, Patricia Burk and her husband William and Lorettto Southward as well as 21 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.

Visitation, Sunday, May 31, 4-8pm with a Rosary at 630pm at Crippen & Flynn Woodside Chapel, 400 Woodside Road, Redwood City, CA. A Requiem Mass will be offered at St. Pius Catholic Church Monday, June 1, 10am. Private Interment.
