As an added service, we place all of our obituaries on our website. This allows family and friends that are not in the area to view their loved one's obituary.

Each obituary also offers you the opportunity to leave an on-line memorial. Each personalized memorial will be forwarded to the family.

So if you are unable to physically attend the visitation or funeral service, you can still express your personal condolences. Your condolences will not immediately appear on the web site. They have to be reviewed and approved by the funeral home before they will be placed on the web site.

  VIEW/SEND CONDOLENCES

Kathleen Jeannie Seitz, 76 of Oakland City, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville. She was born July 19, 1933 in Columbus, Ohio to Samuel and Carrie (Reese) Seitz who preceded her in death along with 1 brother and 4 sisters.

Jeannie graduated from Oakland City High School, class of 1950, then graduated from Deaconess School of Nursing and received her Bachelor of Science degree from University of Evansville. She practiced nursing for 40 years in the office of Dr. William E. Dye in Oakland City. Near the end of her career she worked at Deaconess Hospital.

She was an accomplished cellist and played for the Evansville Philharmonic. She was also an avid quilter and was a member of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church. Perhaps Jeannie’s greatest accomplishment was putting her life on hold to care for her family and the community. Although she never had children of her own, she was a surrogate mother and grandmother to all.

Jeannie is survived and will be greatly missed by Bob Lochmueller who brought great joy to her the last few years of her life. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and their children.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday August 15, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, with the Rev. Douglas Low and Rev. Lee Ayers officiating. Burial will be at the Montgomery Cemetery in Oakland City. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Ronald McDonald House. Envelopes will be available at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home.
