| | | Dorothy M. (Hughes) Parmenter, 85 of Bloomington and formerly of Princeton, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at Red Bud Hills in Bloomington, Indiana. Dorothy married Harlan Parmenter on November 22, 1946. Dorothy is a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Bloomington. She worked for the Navy Dept. in Washington D.C. during WWII and then later she was a trust officer at the Gibson County Bank/Old National Bank for 31 years. Dorothy was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and the Business & Professional Women.
She was born April 11, 1924 in Princeton to Levi & Bertha (Lynch) Hughes, both deceased. She is also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Robert Hughes and Charles Hughes; and 2 sisters, Betty Spence and Mary Keneipp.
Dorothy is survived by her husband of 62 years, Harlan Parmenter of Bloomington; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Matthew & Nancy Parmenter of Bloomington; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer & Greg Koberstein of Evansville; 3 grandchildren, Erin (Bane) Gerth and her husband Mike, Megan Parmenter and Matthew Parmenter II.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 14, 2009 at 3:00 P.M. (CDT) at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with the Rev. David Bremer officiating. Burial will be at the Columbia "White" Church Cemetery in Princeton. Visitation will be from 12 noon until service time on Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial Contributions may be made to United Presbyterian Church, 1701 E. 2nd St., Bloomington, In. 47401. Envelopes will be available at Colvin Funeral Home.
