Dateline: Oak Hills, CA - Helen Verle Schram, 92, formerly of Clear Lake, IA, died
September 17, 2009, in Oak Hills, CA.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 30, 2009, at the United Methodist Church, 508 2nd Ave N., Clear Lake, IA, with Reverend Diana Hoover officiating. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be at the Clear Lake Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the Visiting Nurse Association of Inland Counties Hospice.
Helen was born June 27, 1917, in Hampton, IA, the daughter of Harry and Ethel Lucille (Kennedy) Beed. She graduated from Titonka High School in 1934, and continued her education at Drake University graduating in 1965. She taught school in Mason City and Clear Lake Schools for 24 years. She also taught drivers education for 17 years. Helen married Wilbur Schram May 28, 1939, in Titonka, IA.
Helen enjoyed sewing, gardening and bird watching. She was a member of the Clear Lake United Methodist Church, UMW circles, and various community clubs.
Helen is survived by her son Robert Allen Schram and his wife Donna, Oak Hills, Ca; 4 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband Wilbur, (April 8, 2003), her parents, son Jeffrey, (1977) and one brother Charles Beed.
