Manly- Patsy Ann Bartusek 78, of 122 East Main St. died Wednesday, September 9, 2009, at her home, surrounded by her loving family after a two year battle with colon cancer.

A celebration of life service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 14, 2009, at the Bethel United Methodist Church, 503 East South Street, Manly, with Pastor Don Preston officiating. Burial will be in the Manly Cemetery, Manly.

Visitation will be held Sunday from 2 p.m.until 4 p.m. at Bride Colonial Chapel, 110 East Spring Street, Manly, and continue one hour prior the service at the church on Monday.

Memorials may be directed to the Patsy Ann Bartusek memorial that will later be distributed to Hospice of North Iowa, Bethel United Methodist Church, Manly and the Humane Society of North Iowa.

Patsy Ann Nashiem was born July 4, 1931, in Mason City, the daughter of Everett and Rose (Cassidy) Nashiem. She graduated from Mason City High School in 1949. Patsy was united in marriage to Marcus Bartusek on June 23, 1955; at the Bethel United Methodist Church, Manly. With Marcus working for the Rock Island Railroad they made their home in Minneapolis, Mn, later being transferred to Manly. They were blessed with three children raising their family in Manly.

Patsy worked at the Manly Hatchery, Oltman's Grocery and Iowa Kemper Insurance Company working for 13 years retiring in 1989.

Patsy loved animals especially her dog Fritz. Other hobbies included crocheting, crossword puzzles and making afghans. Her greatest love was spending time with her family and camping. She loved her family camping trips especially around the campfire!

Patsy was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church, Manly and the Wigwam-N-Wagon Campers where she was past secretary.

Patsy is survived by her husband Marcus Bartusek, Manly; children Lori (Hugh) Hansen, Pacific Junction, IA, Sherri (Charles) Schafer, Thornton, Marc (Kimberly) Bartusek, Slinger, WI; grandchildren Amanda and Megan Bachman, Glenwood, Nikki and Carrie Hansen, Glenwood, Kelsie (Kiley) Zimmerman, Davenport, Emily and Bethany Schafer, Thornton, Marek and Sierra Bartusek, Slinger, WI; great grandchildren Carter Pleake and Trey Hansen.

Patsy is preceded in death by her mother and stepfather Rose and Melvin Haxton and her father Everett Nashiem.
