Richard Paul Satter, 62, of Clear Lake, Iowa died Saturday, August 29th at home of a heart attack.
A celebration of Rick’s life will be 1:30p.m. Friday Sept. 4, 2009 at the Lodge, Girl Scout Camp Tanglefoot, 14948, Clear Lake, Iowa. Friends are welcome to gather after 12:30 p.m. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
Born in Clear Lake, Iowa, January 2, 1947, to Paul and Nancy Satter, Rick was a talented photographer and avid collector of western art.
He received his Bachelor of Science degree and was the head of the Audio/Visual Department in the College of Medicine at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa.
He moved to Summit County, Colorado in 1977 and joined a real estate appraisal company. After several years, Rick went on to manage Virgin Islands Ski Rental in Silverthorne, Colorado where he lived until moving back to Clear Lake upon retirement.
Rick loved to ski, travel, and spend time at the houseboat on Lake Powell. More than anything, he loved spending time with his friends, of which he had many.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his infant brother John.
Rick is survived by his daughter Chelsea of Austin, Texas, his identical twin brother Bob Satter of Iowa City, his nephew Zachary Satter of San Francisco, California, and his niece Cassie Goodwin of Washington, Iowa.
