| | | Ralph A. Wicker, 96, of Hwy 222 E. Kenly died September 22, 2009 at Wilson Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Friday September 25, 2009 at11:00 AM in th Kenly United Methodist Church. Rev. Jim Reed and Rev. Milton Wicker will officiate.Burial will follow in the Kenly Cemetery.
Mr. was born on August 18, 1913 in Lee County to the late Mr. Wicker and Katy Wilder Wicker.
Mr. Wicker worked for CP&L for 40 years. He was a member of Kenly United Methodist Church where he held many offices including Sunday School Supernatant and Treasurer. He was a member of the Masons and Lion's Club.
Survived by a daughter, Annette W. Rains and husband Victor of Princeton; brother-in-law, Milton Wilder and wife Betty ; grandchild, Marion Victor "Sonny" Rains, III and wife Sybil Annette, great grandchild, Ralph Wilder Rains and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ginny Wicker.
The family will receive friends Thursday September 24, 2009 from 7-9 PM at Minshew-Coley Funeral Home. Flowers welcome but memorial may be made to Kenly United Methodist Church or a charity of one's choice.
