| | | Dixie Watson, 97, of Revel Road died Monday September 14, 2009 at Smithfield Manor. Mrs. Watson was born on May 15, 1912 in Johnston County to the late Lafayette and Emma Starling Ballance. She was a homemaker, a loving wife, mother, and Grandmother, Great Grand Mother, and Great Great Grandmother. Funeral services will be held Tuesday September 15, 2009 at 7:00 P.M. at Minshew-Coley Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service. Burial will be held Wednesday September 16, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at the Watson Family Cemetery.
Surviving family members are sons; Rudolph Watson and wife Pat of Kenly, Billy Watson and wife Phyllis of Raleigh, Daughter: Betty Lou Finch and husband Leslie of Kenly, Brother: Burlie Ballance of Dangerfield TX, 9 Grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren, and 8 Great Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Roland Watson.
