Dale Mayo Hare, 79, Piney Grove Church Road, Kenly, died Friday, Sept. 11, 2009, at Wilson Medical Center. Mrs. Hare was born on April 30, 1930, in Wilson County to the late Will and Emma Moore Mayo. She was a homemaker, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and passionate about her flower garden. Mrs. Hare was the 1995 Republican Woman of the Year for Johnston County, active Member of the republican party, and served as a prescient judge for the South Beulah district, and a member of the Kenly Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will be held Sunday Sept. 13, 2009, at 2 p.m. at Minshew-Coley Funeral Home Chapel. Vernon Grimes and the Rev. Tim Stevens will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Kenly Cemetery.
Surviving family members are son, David P. Hare and wife, Judy, of Kenly; daughter, Becky Hare Etheridge of Wilson; sister, Inza Boone and husband, Doug, of Raleigh; grandchildren, Jason Hare and wife, Emma, Jamie Hare Bunn and husband, Phillip, Patrick Etheridge and wife, Ashley, and Patrice Etheridge; great-grandchildren, Haley, Ashley Bunn, and Landon Hare; step-great-grandsons, Jordon and Jacob Lamm; many special nieces and nephews; and special caregiver, Bonnie Mendoza.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Paschal “Pat” Hare.
The family will receive friends Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Minshew-Coley Funeral Home. Flowers are welcome but memorials may be made to Kenly Presbyterian Church at P.O. Box 727, Kenly, NC. 27542.
