| | | Mary Almars Boykin, 91, 42 NC Hwy E. died Sunday May 31, 2009 at Wake Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 PM in the Mt. Zion Free Will Baptist Church. Rev. Lewis Godwin will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
She was born June 1, 1917 in Johnston County to the late James Troy and Anlizer Brewer Horne. She was member of Mt. Zion Free Will Baptist Church and the Ladies Auxilliary.
Surviving, two sons, Teenie Boykin of Kenly; Joseph Randall Boykin and wife Beverly of Rochester, KY; 4 sisters, Dorothy Edwards, Arthie Mae Horne, Martha Narron all of Kenly; Velma Simms of Laurel MS; 5 grandchildren, Angie Boykin Parrish, Tracey Boykin, Tonya Boykin, Ryan Peay, and Shannon Boykin Austin; 12 great grandchildren, Matthew Woodall, Mckenze Parrish, Justin Peay, Willie Pergeson, Kimberly Pergeson, Jonthan Mendoza Patino, Joseph (JoJo) Peay, Kali Parrish, Stephanie Pergeson, Shelby Austin, Olivia Austin, Isabella Mendoza Patino
Preceded in death by her husband Marvin Lether Boykin and son Tom Boykin, two brothers, Elbert Horne and Richard (Dick) Hornethree sisters, Elvie Murray, Ruby Johnson, Pearl Boykin.
