| | | HORTON, SHAWN (SGT), Age 55, passed away August 4, 2009 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Shawn was involved in law enforcement all his adult life and was currently a Sgt. with the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office. He previously worked for the Topeka Correctional Facility. Shawn had earned a BA and was currently working on his Masters. He is survived by his wife, Reva of the home; five children, Moriah Pearce & husband Roger Jr., Seneca West & husband Jason all of Cherokee, Oklahoma, David Horton of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Jennifer Hackler & David Webster of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Tonja Tucker & husband Tony of Cherokee, Oklahoma, eight grandchildren, Harley, Checotay, Coda, Meridian, Jessica, Kevin, Genna, & Shanely, two great-grandchildren, Arron & Alec, brother, Kim Horton of Eudora, Kansas, four sisters, Sharon Ripperger & husband Larry, & Cindy Horton all of Galena, Missouri. Novale Horton of Lecompton, Kansas, & Jill Bleil & husband Phil of Leavenworth, Kansas, & sister-in-law, Inez Horton, four uncles, one aunt & a host of other loving family and a multitude of great friends. Shawn was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert & Ramona (Henderson) Horton, one brother, Cody Horton, & his grandparents, Harold & Mary Horton. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 8, 2009 at Christ United Methodist Church, 36th & Harvard. His family will receive friends 5:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Friday, August 7, 2009 at Christian~Gavlik Funeral Home Chapel, 222 West Broadway, Broken Arrow.
