| | | Genele Joyner-Taylor, 86, died Friday, May 1, 2009 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Genele raised her family in Lawton from the mid 1940's to the late 1960's. She worked as a bookkeeper at the Lawton Constitution and later for Lawton Moving & Storage. She became a Broken Arrow resident in the mid 1970's. Genele worked as a secretary at B.A.S.I. in the 1980's, was a member of the American Legion Post 1 in Tulsa, and a member of the First Christian Church of Broken Arrow. She enjoyed dancing, fishing and all kinds of crafts. She loved to work with her hands. She is survived by 3 children;Doug Joyner of Lawton, & Jon Joyner (wife Kelli) & Sharon Hiestand (husband Karl) both of Broken Arrow; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; one brother & one sister. Genele was preceded in death by her husband Sam Taylor in 1976; 3 grandsons and her parents. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at Christian~Gavlik Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Arrow.
