Mervin L. Walter, 70 of Upper Sandusky died Fri Mar 9, 2012 in St. Vincent Hospital, Toledo. He was born July 8, 1941 in Nevada to the late Durain & Izetta (Earp) Walter.

Mr. Walter married Virginia Lear on May 17, 1967 and she survives. He is also survived by his son Ryan Walter of Arlington, his daughter Kimberly (Allen Lohr) Walter of Bucyrus, 2 grandchildren Jake & Kalee, a sister Helen Daiber of Bucyrus, 2 brothers James (Jackie) Walter of Upper Sandusky, and Donald (Pat) Walter of Marysville. He was preceded in death by a sister Nancy Kemerley.

He graduated in 1959 from Nevada High School. Mr. Walter was a Vietnam Veteran where he served in the U.S. Army. He retired in 2004 from Guardian Industries after more than 25 years. He also worked for Parsell Plumbing & Heating. Mr. Walter enjoyed building homes, working with daughter and grandchildren with their Quarter horses, watching sports especially OSU Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns & Indians, and taking walks with the family dog Sugar.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00AM Wed Mar 14, 2012 in the Bringman Clark Funeral Home with Pastor Jarrod Schaaf officiating. Interment will follow at Old Mission cemetery with Military Honors conducted by Upper Sandusky Veterans Color Guard. Visitation will be held from 4-8PM Tue Mar 13, 2012 at Bringman Clark Funeral Home. Visit to view the Life Tribute Video, share a memory, or to send a condolence.
