Douglas W. LaMont, age 54, formerly of Upper Sandusky, OH had been residing in Indianapolis, IN for the past 6 months died at his residence on Thurs. Sept. 3, 2009.
He was born Feb. 22, 1955 in Conneaut, OH to Sidney W. and Mabel V. (Church) LaMont. His mother precedes him in death, his father survives in Upper Sandsky, OH.
He is survived by 2 brothers Jeffrey LaMont, Steven LaMont and a sister Kathy (Dean) Garrison, all of Upper Sandusky, OH.
Mr. LaMont retired from the United States Navy as a Chief Petty Officer after serving in Vietnam and during the Gulf War. He served on the SSN Garfish Nuclear Fast Attack Submarine.
He was life member of AmVets #777 where he was a former officer and was life member of VFW Post #2842.
He enjoyed fishing. Doug was a fan of the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Inidans and the OSU Buckeyes.
A memorial service will be held Fri. Sept. 11 at 11:30 a.m. at the Bicentennial Park, Upper Sandusky, OH with his uncle the Rev. Jerry Church officiating. Military honors will be conducted by local veteran organizations.
Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, North Kingsville, OH.
