Magoon, Marlene
Appleton

Age 72, died Wednesday October 7, 2009 at Appleton Medical Center after a short illness. Marlene was born in Appleton on April 13, 1937 to the late Edward and Marie (Williams) Rammer. In December of 1964, she married her high school sweetheart, Roger Magoon, and they enjoyed 44 wonderful years together. In addition to her full time job as wife and mother, Marlene assisted Roger in running their business, Magoon, Ltd., for many years. She is past president of the Women’s General Auxiliary for Crippled Children’s Hospital, past member of the United Methodist Women, and was involved with the Girl Scouts of America for many years. She was a member of the Appleton Medical Center Auxiliary, the White Shrine, and the Eastern Star. Marlene was a talented flower arranger, working for a time with Charles The Florist, and had a passion for needlework. She especially enjoyed making Christmas stockings for her family.

She is survived by her husband Roger, Appleton; 2 daughters: Katherine (Tina Tonn) Rehfeldt, Appleton, and J. Keri Kleinhuizen, Appleton; son Kurt (Kristi) Magoon, Menomonee Falls; 5 grandchildren: Norah Foat, Brittany (Bryan) Jones, Charlie Rehfeldt, A. J. Magoon, and Erin Magoon; 3 great grandchildren: Ember Foat, Brook Jones, and Abby Jones; a sister Eve (Vern) Verkuilen, Bloomer; and 2 sisters in law: Sharon Rammer, Appleton, and Helen (Kenneth) McLellan, Appleton. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers: Edward and Robert, and a sister Char Faas.

A Funeral Service will take place following the Eastern Star Service at 11 am on Monday, October 12 at First United Methodist Church, 325 E. Franklin St. Appleton, with the Rev. Doyle Blanton officiating. Friends may visit at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Lederer Funeral Home from 2 to 5 pm on Sunday and directly at the church on Monday from 10 am until the time of service. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
