Mary Jane Busch, of Appleton, died Friday May 29, 2009, at Cherry Meadows Hospice after a long courageous battle with cancer. Mary was born January 8, 1937, in Appleton to the late Walter W. and Mabel (Brandt) Pommerenke. She resided in Appleton her entire life. After graduating high school, Mary went to work for many years at Riverside Paper, then later at the downtown Pranges Department Store. On October 2, 1965, she was united in marriage with Edward Busch, and the couple enjoyed 44 years together. Mary Jane loved to travel and go shopping. She also took great pride in taking good care of her family. She was a member at Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Appleton. She is survived by her husband Ed, of Appleton; 2 sisters: Alice (Mory) Locklin, Cape Cod, MA. and Carol (Gene) Beschta, Appleton; 2 brothers in law: Al McHugh, Mackville, and David Banks, Freedom; she is further survived by many nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters: Amy McHugh and Judy Banks; and her brother Walter J. Pommerenke. A graveside service will be held at a later date.
