Bruner, Daniel R.
“Byrd”

Dan age 55, of Menasha, passed away unexpectedly Monday, May 11, 2009, at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Dan was born September 21, 1953, in Caney, Kansas, son of Norval “Tex” and Alberta (Davis) Bruner. He graduated from Appleton West High School and received an Associate Degree in Funeral Service from Milwaukee Area Technical College. While attending MATC he also worked as in home caretaker assisting individuals with disabilities.

Following graduation he served his internship with Joyce Funeral Home, Madison and Brettschneider-Trettin-Lederer Funeral Chapel, Appleton. Upon receiving his funeral directors license he worked for the Joyce/Ryan Funeral Home, Madison, Lulloff-Peterson-Houch Funeral Home, Dodgeville and Larry’s Livery Service, Appleton. Dan was a former avid bowler and proud of bowling a perfect 300 game while in Madison. He was a past member of the Wisconsin Funeral Directors Association.

Survivors include 2 daughters and a son-in-law: Tonya and Kristopher Koskelin, Sun Praire; Amy Bruner and her fiancé, Jeff Schlosser, Oshkosh; parents: Norval “Tex” and Alberta Bruner of Appleton; 4 brothers and sisters-in-law: Philip and Connie Bruner, Green Bay; Paul and Lynda Bruner, Crivitz; Tim and Kathy Bruner, Batesville, Arkansas; David and Linda Bruner, Couer d’Alene, Idaho;, grandchildren: Alexis Seitz, Thomas and Andrew Koskelin, special friend: Linda Kessel, Menasha; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be held 11 am Saturday, May 16, 2009, at Mason Street Church of Christ, 2600 N. Mason St. Appleton, with Rev. John Mooney officiating. Inurnment will take place at Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:30 am until the time of service. A memorial fund has been established.
