Arnold, Marion M.

Marion age 86, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at Wisconsin Veterans Home at King. She was born September 15, 1922, in Appleton, daughter of the late William and Emma (Wishart) Maves. She married Earl Arnold May 29, 1948, sharing 57 years together before his death July 29, 2005. Marion was employed as an administrative assistant for the Northern Wisconsin District of The American Lutheran Church for many years and then worked in the office of Dr. Dafoe. She retired in 1986.

Marion was a long time member of Faith Lutheran Church and the Faith Choir. She was a former charter member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Appleton, where she sang in the church choir and served as organist and choir director. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and Chaminade.

Marion is survived by 2 sons and a daughter-in-law: Dr. John and Barbara Arnold, Missoula, Montana;Ted Arnold, Ames, IA; a granddaughter: Sara Arnold, Missoula, Montana; a brother-in-law: Stanley (Carol) Arnold, Appleton; and 2 sisters-in-law: Shirley (Ken) Gauerke, Appleton and Arlene Maves, Appleton. She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Maves.

Services will be held 11 AM Friday, May 1, 2009, at Faith Lutheran Church, 601 E. Glendale Ave., with Rev. Daniel Thews officiating. Inurnment will take place at Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 9 AM until the time of service. Memorials may be directed to Faith Music Ministry.

The family would like to thank the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, WI for their compassionate care of Marion while a resident.
