Margaret age 91, of Appleton, entered eternal life on Monday, April 6, 2009. She was born September 28, 1917, daughter of the late Gilbert and Emma (Rusch) Akey. Margaret married Elroy Schulz February 27, 1937, sharing 57 years together before his death in 1994. She was also preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Schulz and a granddaughter, Terie Childs.
Margaret was the loving mother of Gerald (Sharon) Schulz, Travelers Rest, SC; Jean (Byron) Ehn, Menomonee Falls; Kay (Eric) Schuster, Denver, CO; and daughter-in-law Ginny Gluege, Madison. She will also be missed by grandchildren: Janet (Joe Redwine) Ehn; Byron (Diane) Ehn Jr.; Lorie (Don) Porter; Sue Schulz; Abby Schulz; Marc Schulz; Jennifer (Mike) Tryggestad; 5 great grandchildren; a sister Helen Fraaza, New London; nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Margaret was a long time active member of Faith Lutheran Church. She was employed by Peerless Cleaners in Appleton for 18 years before her retirement in 1980. When her sight failed, she became an active member of the VIP Club at the Thompson Community Center.
Visitation will be held at 10 AM Saturday, April 18, 2009, until the time of the service at 11 AM, at Faith Lutheran Church, 60l E. Glendale Ave., Appleton, with Rev. Paul Brinkman officiating. Inurnment will take place at Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated, to Faith Lutheran Church, Appleton, the Bethesda Lutheran Services, Watertown, WI or the American Cancer Society.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the caring staff at Sheelin Cottage, Crestwood Senior Living Community, to Heartland Home Hospice and to friends at the Ridgeview Highland Apartments.
