Grace, age 88 of Appleton, passed away peacefully Monday, January 26, 2009, at Appleton Health Care Center following a brief illness.
She was born March 21, 1920, in Menasha, daughter of the late Edward and Jennifer (Hansen) Buchert. She married George N. Swamp Sr., October 28, 1949, sharing 18 years together before his death July 7, 1968. She was employed by Zwicker Knitting Mills and then H.C. Prange for many years until she retired.
Grace was member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She loved holding babies, the Packers, bowling, and knitting baby sweaters sets. She especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Grace is survived by a son and daughter-in-law: George M. Swamp and Mary Kay Baum, Madison; two daughters and sons-in-law: Sharon and Marlin Mousseau, Seymour and Sue and Ed McDay, New York, NY; 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and a sister-in-law: Johanna (Honey) Swamp, Orlando, FL and many friends including special friend Anna Baum, Mackville.
Services will be held 2 PM Friday January 30, 2009 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 209 S. Allen St. with Rev. Kurt Kovanen officiating. Inurnment will take place at Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Friday from 12 noon until the time of service. A memorial fund has been established.
