1919 – 2009 Arthur “Grandpa” Stenning, 89, St. Joseph, Missouri, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 1, 2009. He was born September 12, 1919 in Paddington, New South Wales to Bertrum John and Agnes (McAlpine) Stenning. Arthur married Juanita Marie Ordnung on August 10, 1940 in Las Vegas,Nevada. He was a WWII Veteran and served with the U.S. Navy. Arthur retired from the Missouri Highway Department. He also had worked as an aircraft assembler, mechanic and farmer. Arthur was a very active member of the Resurrection Life Church, St. Joseph. Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers; two sisters; and his wife, Juanita. Survivors: son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Coy Stenning, St. Joseph; grandchildren, Ryan Stenning, Myrtie Tirrell, Frank Sutton, Lisa Fryman and husband, Larry, William “Billy” Tirrell, Christopher Tirrell and Anthony Czebely; and 5 great granddaughters, Madison Collins, Ashley and Jamie Miller, Haley and Samantha Tirrell. HE WILL BE SADLY MISSED BY MANY FRIENDS AND FAMILY.Celebration of Life: 2 PM Monday, July 6, 2009 at Breit-Hawkins & Gladden & Funeral Home, Savannah. Interment with full Military Honors in Savannah, Missouri Cemetery. Public viewing and family receiving hours 6-8 PM Sunday. The family request memorials to Alzheimers Association or the American Cancer Society. | ||
