| Leola Darlene (Castle) Haenni, 97, Savannah, Missouri, died Saturday, October 14, 2006 at Sheperd’s Personal Care, St. Joseph, Missouri.
Leola was born March 12, 1909 at St. Joseph, Missouri to James and Hannah (Welter) Castle. She married Vincent Haenni September 21, 1929 at Troy, Kansas. Leola and Vincent had both grown up on farms and were engaged in dairy farming their entire married life. They were married for 66 wonderful years. Vincent preceded Leola in death on April 13, 1995. Leola was a member of Savannah United Methodist Church. An avid gardener, Leola loved to work in her vegetable and rose gardens. Leola had a great love for her family. Also preceding Leola in death were her parents; twin sister Leona Castle; sister, Pauline Schweizer; brothers Orville, Ernest, Herbert, Clarence and Everett Castle. Survivors: sons and daughters-in law; Jack and Minnie (Bunse) Haenni, Savannah, Missouri; Paul and Carol (Hurst) Haenni, Virginia Beach, Virginia; six grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Celebration of Life: 10:30 AM, Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at Breit-Hawkins & Gladden Funeral Home, Savannah, Missouri. Public viewing and family visitation 6 to 8 PM Tuesday. Interment Savannah, Missouri Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to Savannah United Methodist Church. | ||
