Glen T. (John) Carneal, 95, Amazonia, Missouri died Sunday, July 23, 2006 at LaVerna Village Nursing Home, Savannah, Missouri.
Glen was born May 6, 1911 to the late Edward and Effie (Nichols) Carneal in Cliquot, Missouri. On August 23, 1933 Glen married Frances E. Wetenkamp in Bolivar, Missouri, They were married 70 years. Frances preceded him in death June 4, 2004.
Glen and Frances moved from the family farm at Mynard, Nebraska to Union, Nebraska in 1954. He managed the University of Nebraska’s Experimental Fruit Farm. In 1965 they moved to Amazonia, Missouri where Glen managed Hunt’s Orchard. He retired in 1995. Glen was a member of Amazonia United Methodist Church.
Brothers; Clem, Fred, Donald, Ronald, Willis and Noel Carneal, sisters; Audrey Hook, Lola Dennis, Reba Pitts and Lillis Garrison also preceded him in death.
Survivors: daughter; Martha Chandler, St. Joseph, Missouri, sons; Tom Carneal, Maryville, Missouri, Sam and John Carneal, both of Amazonia, cousin; Finis Hammons, Bolivar, Missouri, 13 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Celebration of Life: 9:30 AM, Wednesday, July 26, 2006 at Breit-Hawkins & Gladden Funeral Home, Savannah, Missouri. Public viewing and family receiving Tuesday, 6 to 8 PM. Interment; 2:30 PM, Wednesday, Oak Hill Cemetery, Plattsmouth, Nebraska. Memorials to Amazonia United Methodist Church, 509 Spring Street, Amazonia, MO. 64421.
