| Dorothy Juanita (Bird) Dittemore, Savannah, Missouri, 80, died Monday, July 3, 2006 at La Verna Village Nursing Home, Savannah, Missouri.
Dorothy was born to the late Lester and Bessie (McCrea) Bird on November 21, 1925 in Maysville, Missouri. Dorothy was married to William Edwin Patterson for 19 years. He preceded her in death on July 2, 1965. She married Donald Dittemore on July 18, 1970 in Savannah, Missouri. He preceded her in death May 26, 1996. Dorothy was also preceded in death by brothers; Bob and Jim Bird; sisters; Wilma Muse and Shirley Fleming. Dorothy was a member of Savannah United Methodist Church. She practiced as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the St. Joseph State Hospital, Methodist Hospital and La Verna Village Nursing Home. She loved gardening, cooking and reading. Dorothy was a volunteer for Hands Of Hope Hospice. She will be greatly missed by all. Survivors: daughters, Linda and husband Jim Burk, Minburn, Iowa, Kathy Jones, St. Joseph, Missouri; sons Gary and wife Ann Patterson, Wichita, Kansas, Darrell and wife Kay Patterson, Savannah; 9 grand children and 8 great-grandchildren; sister Phyllis Tystad, St. Joseph, Missouri; brother Jerry and wife Floida Bird, Elk River, Minnesota; numerous nieces and nephews. Celebration of Life Friday, July 7, 2006, 10:00 AM, Savannah United Methodist Church. Public viewing and family receiving Thursday, July 6, 6-8 PM at Breit-Hawkins & Gladden Funeral Home, Savannah, Missouri. Interment Savannah, Missouri Cemetery.
