1916 - 2006 Frances A. (Wassenberg) Bowland, 89, Mound City, Missouri, formerly of Savannah, Missouri died Saturday, June 17, 2006 at Tiffany Heights Care Center, Mound City, Missouri. Frances was born October 25, 1916 at Marysville, Kansas to the late August and Golden Elizabeth (Schwindamann) Wassenberg. She was a graduate of Marysville High School and St. Anthony’s Hospital School of Nursing in Sabetha, Kansas. Frances married Raymond Shepard in 1940. He preceded her in death in 1973. She later married Maurice Bowland in 1976 and he preceded her in death in 1989. Brothers, William Wasssenberg and Harold Wassenberg; sisters; Leona Wassenberg, Cecelia Wassenberg and Edith Truex also preceded her in death. Frances was a Registered Nurse for Dr. McRae, M.D. in Mound City for many years. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, painting and the outdoors. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Savannah, Missouri. Survivors: step daughter, Cheryl Miles and husband, Gary, Mound City, Missouri; brother, Jerome Wassenberg, Harlingen, Texas; sisters; Thelma Moring, Viola, Kansas; Katherine Pierce, Wichita, Kansas; Margaret Sedlacek, Manhattan, Kansas; 2 step grandchildren; Korey Miles and wife, Kasey, St. Joseph, Missouri, Lisa Loucks and husband, Mike, Mound City, Missouri; 2 step great-grandchildren; Haley and Miles Loucks, Mound City, Missouri; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. | ||
