| | | | John R. Carpenter, 51, Savannah, Missouri, died Tuesday, May 23, 2006, in the hospital in St. Joseph, Missouri.
John was born August 25, 1954 in Fairfax, Missouri. He was a 1972 graduate of North Andrew High School in Rosendale. In 1977 he received his B.S. degree in chemistry from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville.
From 1991-2005, John had been the vice-president of technical affairs with Phoenix Scientific. He had previously been employed with Anchor Serum from 1979-1989 and Fermenta from 1989-1991.
He was a member of the Bolckow United Methodist Church; Boy Scouts of America; and the American Chemical Society.
On July 19, 2003 he married his high school sweetheart, Twyla (Taylor) Wilson, in Oregon, Missouri. She survives of the home.
Additional survivors include his parents, Dr. Sam and Lois (Walker) Carpenter, The Woodlands, Texas; two step-sons and a daughter-in-law, Garret Wilson, San Diego, California, and Jeremy and Danielle Wilson, Savannah, Missouri; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Mark and Janet Carpenter, New London, Missouri, and Kevin and Lisa Carpenter, Houston, Texas; mother-in-law, Shirley Taylor, Bolckow, Missouri; granddaughter, Delaney Wilson, Savannah, Missouri; nephew and niece, Ross and Kelsie Carpenter, Houston, Texas; and several aunts and uncles; and many friends.
Service: 11:00 AM Friday, May 26, 2006, Breit-Hawkins & Gladden Funeral Home, Savannah, Missouri. Interment: Bolckow Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the North Andrew High School Scholarship Fund, 9120 Highway 48, Rosendale, MO 64483.
