1923 – 2009 Helen Rose (Rimel) Diggs, 85, Savannah, Missouri passed from this life on Sunday, January 4, 2009 at Shady Lawn Nursing Home, Savannah, Missouri. Helen was born April 4, 1923 to Harold and Agnes (Ellis) Rimel in Guilford, Missouri. She married Kenneth Diggs on May 18, 1943 at Kansas City, Kansas. Helen worked as a postal clerk for 22 years. She enjoyed sewing, shopping, dancing and flowers. Helen was a member of Bolckow Christian Church. Her parents; brother, Donald Rimel (WWII M.I.A.); sister, Norma Hilsabeck; and grandchild, Joshua Diggs preceded Helen in death. Survivors: husband, Kenneth, of the home; sons, Randy Diggs and wife, Darla, Savannah, Missouri; Donald Diggs and wife, Blasita, Gladstone, Missouri; daughter, Michelle Edwards and husband, Jay, Blythedale, Missouri; 4 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Celebration of Life: 2:00 PM Thursday, January 8, 2009 at Breit-Hawkins & Gladden Funeral Home, Savannah, Missouri. Interment at Bolckow, Missouri Cemetery. Public viewing after 12:00 PM Wednesday. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday. The family suggests memorials to Shady Lawn Nursing Home or Hands of Hope Hospice. | ||
