1929 – 2008 Burl Dean Edwards, 79, Belton, Missouri, formerly of Rosendale and Savannah, Missouri passed from this life on Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at Beautiful Savior Home in Belton, Missouri. He was born July 22, 1929 in Bolckow, Missouri to the late Leland and Pearl (Campbell) Edwards. Burl served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. Burl married Lola Schildknecht on March 21, 1952 in Whitesville, MO and she preceded him in death on March 3, 2007. Burl was owner of Edwards Gas-n-Shop in Belton, Missouri for several years. Prior to that, he was employed with Imperial Oil Company. Burl was a member of Rosendale Baptist Church. Survivors: daughters and son-in-laws, Neva and Steve Thornton, Lansing, Kansas; Cheryl and Randy Wampler, Medicine Lodge, Kansas; sons and daughters-in-law, Tommie and Kathryn Edwards, St. Joseph; Gary and Penny Edwards, Kansas City, Missouri, 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Celebration of Life: 10:30 AM Friday, November 14, 2008 at Breit-Hawkins & Gladden Funeral Home. Interment at Whitesville, Missouri Cemetery. Public viewing and family receiving hours 7:00 to 8:30 PM Thursday. The family suggests memorials to Beautiful Savior Home. | ||
