1912 – 2008 Hazel Gertrude (Curtis) Denman, 95, Savannah, Missouri passed from this life on Saturday, August 09, 2008 at her home. She was born December 13, 1912 in Palmer, Nebraska to Barker and Bessie (Knapp) Curtis. Hazel married Lloyd Denman in 1937 at Omaha, Nebraska. He preceded her in death on January 20, 1998. Hazel was a member of Bolckow United Methodist Church. She was owner and operator of Hazel’s Café. Hazel enjoyed crocheting afghans. She loved her 2 cats, Annie and Baby. Her parents; brothers, Lloyd and Gerald Curtis; and sister, Mabel Beck; also preceded Hazel in death. Survivors: daughters, Trudy Nease and husband, Herb, Savannah; Karen Kennedy and husband, Ron, Kansas City, Missouri; Patricia Gardner and husband, Fred, Laconia, New Hampshire; 7 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the Excel Home Health Care workers and Hazel’s granddaughter, Lynne Beaver, for her care and devotion over the last 5 years. Celebration of Life: 2:30 PM Monday, August 11, 2008 at Breit-Hawkins & Gladden Funeral Home, Savannah, Missouri. Interment at Bolckow, Missouri Cemetery. Public viewing and family receiving from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM Monday. The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association. | ||
