1935 – 2008 Doris Roberts Griffin, 72, Savannah, Missouri passed from this life on Wednesday, March 5, 2008 in her home. Doris was born July 10, 1935 in Rulo, Nebraska to the late Samuel and Blanche (Foster) Roberts. Doris married Jerry Griffin on January 10, 1954 at Yuma, Arizona and he preceded her in death on June 23, 1993. A brother, Samuel Roberts, Jr. and 2 sisters, Anna Lee Ferguson and Betty Garrison also preceded Doris in death. She was of the Baptist faith and had received recognition for donating over 100 pints of blood. Doris was an honest person and strong character. She was a big supporter of military families on Navy bases while stationed with her husband and family. Survivors: sons and daughters-in-law, Martyn and Carole Griffin, of the home; Bryan and Susan Griffin, LaVerne, CA; Roger Griffin, Troy, KS; daughter, Julie Schaffer, Denver, CO; sisters, Shirley Bowerman, Big Bear, CA; Rose Jean Beardeaux, Savoy, TX; 2 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Celebration of Life: 11 AM Saturday, March 8, 2008 at Breit-Hawkins & Gladden Funeral Home, Savannah, MO. Interment in Rulo, Nebraska Cemetery. Public viewing and family receiving hours 10 to 11 AM Saturday. The family suggests memorials to American Heart Association or Three Rivers Hospice. | ||
